Hello, My Name is Nicole and I Am A Sugarholic!

I have been dealing with the difficulty of keeping up with my two teenage sons, maintaining a home, holding down a job, and fighting the inevitable battle of the bulge!

Did I mention, a losing battle?

Sugar started as my energy boost but soon became my addiction. My body literally started to crave sugar so much, I literally would experience withdrawal-like symptoms. Pounding headaches, the shakes, and hunger pangs that felt like acid was eating me from the inside out.

Help! I Have Fallen and I Can’t Get Up!

Just like the commercial involving the elderly woman who took a fall and was unable to get herself up off the floor. That is how I imagine my future! One day my sons will be happily married and living their own lives. This single gal does not see that status changing anytime soon. Thus, my daydream of being alone and sprawled on the floor. Sadly, I will roll around until the weight falls off and I can resume normal living. Or I will literally die trying.

Enough with the self-loathing and pity party! A horrible side-effect of being a sugarholic.

My Personal Testimonial

I am 45 days into my 30 Days to Healthy Living challenge. I am down a mere 16 pounds. Had I stuck to the program, I would be another pant size smaller, but this thing called life (and my sugar addiction) had other plans for me.

Good question! If it is required to follow a strict regimen, (of which I already failed), in an effort to jumpstart a healthy lifestyle – how is anyone going to succeed the moment they come OFF the system?

That’s just it. One DOES NOT come off the system. The Arbonne essentials program is designed for making healthy lifestyle choices. It is NOT a diet, it is a change in bad eating habits. For me, that habit is my addiction to sugar.

Shifting to a lifestyle of healthy living, I have been able to reverse many of the negative feelings of aging.

The bouts of fatigue, the acid reflux, and aches and pains are all becoming fewer and farther between. My goal is to return to those clothes which have been taunting me and reminding me of my thinner years. Soon, I will be slipping on my once favorite pair of jeans! Fortunately, with the lose a pumpkin challenge, I am already 16 pounds closer to that day!
